Well, another Show-Me Challenge has come and gone and a terrific time was had by all! From what I’ve been hearing, everyone had a great time and can’t wait to do it again. I must say, tho’, that we here in the Midwest could not have done it without our wonderful friends from Kentucky: Liz & Paul, Cassie & Sarah, Brittany, Leigh, Dennis, Brandon, Maggie, Hannah, and our amazing judge, Hans! Without your help and guidance we couldn’t have gotten this whole games thing off the ground. Many many thanks for all your help! We’re so glad you came and we can’t wait to see you again! Y’all come back!!
Many thanks to Wendy, Rick, Michelle, Elizabeth, Debbie, Lisa and Piper who were terrific line judges/equipment managers (not such hard work, was it?). Also, thanks to Donna for her gift with numbers and keeping the scores straight (it was tough ‘cuz some of those games were really really close!!)
Very appreciative thank-yous go to North Acres Pony Club for providing the yummy lunch on Saturday. One of the best ways to keep people happy is to make their tummies happy, and I think that happened on Saturday (that chicken salad is a Midwest Games tradition!!). Thank you to Jackie and all her helpers!
Most importantly, thank you players because your sportsmanship really showed through in this event. You were all very encouraging of each other and saw this for what it was – games (fun, good times, etc!!). You need to give your excellent partners (your ponies) a big pat and lots of carrots. They played very well together. Kudos to Butterball and Silhouette who pulled double duty this weekend doing both Novice and Masters divisions.
Also, I am so very proud of all you Masters riders who helped the Novices in their clinic and in their games. I know you were hot and probably just a bit tired, but you were there for these young ones and you helped make their first time with games a very memorable one. I’m sure any of them would gladly play games with you again.
Last but certainly not least, thank you to Merrick Studios for taking such terrific pictures - please go to www.merrickstudios.com to see how you all looked this weekend (some of the expressions are “priceless” LOL!). Click on Show-Me Challenge (USMGA) and it will take you to the pictures.
It was a fun time with great friends. Lets do it again real soon!!
