Story from Organizer Carol Bertilson  March 15-16, Edinburgh, IN- We had a wonderful weekend at the Hoosier Horse Park.  We competed in the Baker Covered Arena.  It’s a 350’x150’ covered arena.  We had 3 divisions, 4- Ever-Young, Novice, and Masters.  We had 4 pair teams for 4-Ever-Young, 3 Novice Rider teams and 1 novice horse team, and 4 Masters teams.  Each division played 3 times.   We played many games in each division and had a great crew of Judges, and equipment crew.  Our Judge/starter was Tyra Malm, our  Scoring team was Beth Lough and Leigh Hartog.  Our announcer was Josh Rickard.  Many thanks to our hard working crew. Our special guests for the weekend were the Australian team and their Coach and Chaperone Daylene and Rob Bennett.  We had a really wonderful time hosting them at our competition.

  The Aussies, Leigh Hartog, Serg Sequen,  Rob and Daylene Bennett and the Aussie Team provided a Trophy for the Masters division, the Wallaby Trophy; Aussies Vs Midwest.  The 1^st place team and their names will be engraved on it.  We enjoyed 2 brand new – Fun Games at our competition.  Jean and Jon Straub developed and provided the tools and instructions for the All American as Apple Pie Game.  We played 4 different sports in the game, baseball, basketball, polocross and football.  Many thanks to the Straubs for a great game that we all enjoyed.

Our other game- new and a really great last game of the session, was the Margarita Mix game.  The riders each had a different skill job in the making of a drink.  The 5^th unmounted rider ( our hard working equipment crew) got to drink the fruit of the game.  It was a lot of fun to ride, to watch and participate as the 5^th rider.  We also played the Canadian Game,  Hockey on horseback. 

 We had Warm Sunny weather for our games, We had a wonderful food service right on the grounds.  The Hoosier Horse staff took very good care of us all weekend.  We had a Dorm for the Aussies and the American Riders to share, and we really enjoyed our social time in the dorm with food, card playing and story telling.   Many thanks to the parents who shared the dorm with the riders and chaperoned.  Our Big thanks to the Aussie Team and adults for the great job on clean up in the Fox Den. 

 Our thanks to the Hoosier Horse Park and Johnson County Park for sponsoring our Novice Horse Riders this weekend.  We appreciate the opportunity to school our pony pool ponies, for worlds, in a competition setting.            

 Our thanks to all the riders and parents who took time to come to the competition.  We hope you enjoyed yourselves.  We really enjoyed this competition and look forward to hosting you again next spring.
