Chesapeake Games Open - May 3/4, 2003 The largest Chesapeake Open yet was held in West Virginia this year.  The A final came down to a three-way struggle between the USMGA World team,  The Fat Penguins (composed of members of the U.S. international squad and a rider competing for her first time ever in the master's division), and Clueless.  In the end it was a close battle between the Penguins and the World Squad with the World Squad edging ahead by two points.   Clueless placed third.

     The Punk Rock Ponies took the B final followed by the Stars.  The Vixens placed third.  This was the first time that the Chesapeake Open hosted a For-Ever-Young division, run as a pairs competition.  Many parents borrowed their children's ponies and many new riders got a taste of mounted games.  The division was won by the Black and Gold.  In second place were the Zippy Chicks,  a team that seemed to rotate members every session. (Luckily for the Zippies, V. Brown, riding a green pony being loaned for worlds,  held down the anchor position on the final day. )  Thanks to Sharon Brown for another brilliant job organizing.
