North American II-Corn Husk Classic October 9-10 2004, The Second Annual Corn Husk Classic was blessed with beautiful weather, friendly faces and the fiercest competition ever seen at a USMGA competition. In the Master's final the lead flipped with each race as each team took the lead. The group lunch was a big hit. Everything went smoothly except for the water fight after the group lunch. It's just a good thing that we were outside for the afternoon picnic. Thanks to the many riders that helped out during the weekend. Five-man teams in the master's division graciously loaned their fifth riders to the Greek ponies to complete their team. Riders from all the teams showed up to help in the pit crew. Thanks also to the many, many parents who helped in the pits, especially Mark Textor who even came out on Thursday to load the van. Thanks to Erin Benson and Sandy Clevenger for announcing and to Sandy, Betts and Erin who did a sensational job of organizing the office. Thanks to Hans Kallenburger for serving as chief referee, and to Tracy McVittie and Maisie Durward for a great job of scoring. Everyone who ate lunch thanks Cindy Miller and Nora Benson who brought order out of chaos and provided lunch to the masses on Saturday and Sunday, Many more people joined the unsung heroes who helped make the Classic so much fun for so many people. Some of our new riders commented that they have never met such a friendly, kind group of people at any other horse event. Such is the wonder of games.
