November 19-20 2005, Lexington, Ky. What can you say about an event with perfect weather, perfect food and entertainment, and perfectly wonderful people who made sure that all the little details worked out perfectly? It just shows what happens when an organizing committee (LeAnn Benevento--registration and ribbons, Hans Kallenburger refereeing, field layout and entertainment, Cindy Miller and Nora Benson---best food ever,anywhere, Bets Montgomery--scoresheets and scoring,Krysten Textor--announcing, and Mark Textor --equipment, step in early and plan so exaactly that everything ran accoring to plan and on time. Every division was on time on Saturday, which allowed plenty of time to get ready for the dance on Saturday evening. Thank you Cherie Lanier teaching so many riders so many dances. The best party yet. The dance floor transformed the riders into dancers. Some made the transformation better than others. The floor was packed as we learned salsa, swing and the John Travolta line dance.
This year's competition brought in a team from Sussex, England and provided the toughest competition, ever. The master's A division was won by the team from Susses,England in a battle ending in a runoff with the Stud's and Fillies. The Quicksilver team claimed third after the unfortunate loss of their white helmet band two races from the end. Fourth went to the Hillbillies with the Neon Nights (a new Canadian/American alliance) picking up fifth.
The B final was a between the Holy Cows! and the Leaping Lizards. In the end the Cows beat out the Lizards. The Terminators were third with the Excitables fourth and Candyland (their debut in the Master's) in fifth. The 4-Ever-Young division was a tight competition between 6 teams but in the end the GTO's ended up with the $500, with the Angels and the Nags fighting for second. The Novice division was won by the brightly accessorized Flying Colors. Close on their heels was the team with the best name "Dude where's my pony", with Red Rockets in third and the Incredibles fourth.

It was truly extraordinary how many people stepped in exactly when they were needed to help with equipment, prizes and the hundreds of other details that make or break a competition. We thank all of you with our deepest appreciation. You are what makes games so special.
